PERSEUS 8‒12 m wide-working single-disc seeding systems — powerful No-Till solutions for sowing into heavy crop residues.

The PERSEUS trailed single-disc seeding systems, available in working widths of 8, 9, 10, and 12 meters, are built on a heavy-duty, one-piece frame featuring integrated two-compartment hoppers with capacities of 6,000 L and 8,000 L. These machines are designed for high-productivity direct seeding (No-Till), minimum tillage (Min-Till), sowing cover crops into tall stubble, and conventional tillage operations in dry, heavy clay, or stony soils.

Heavy-duty single-disc coulter with up to 250 kg of downforce

-Hydraulic downforce (10‒250 kg): The load on the coulters is centrally adjusted from the tractor cab via hydraulic cylinders. Up to 250 kg of pressure per disc ensures consistent cutting through even the densest sod or tough sunflower and corn stalks, without causing the seeding section to lift out of the ground.

-Coaxial depth-control gauge wheel: Positioned on the same axis immediately adjacent to the cutting disc. This design ensures excellent ground contour following, presses down crop residues during the cutting process, and prevents soil from being thrown laterally, even at operating speeds of 10‒20 km/h. -Maintenance-free rubber-torsion suspension: resilient rubber shock absorbers dampen impact loads caused by stones or uneven field terrain; the system contains no friction points requiring regular lubrication.

-Hard-alloy reinforcement of the seed boot: the working area of the seed boot is protected by wear-resistant hard-alloy inserts, which maintain the furrow geometry over thousands of hectares.

Row Cleaner — a clean furrow without the «hairpinning effect»
For operation in fields with a high volume of unevenly distributed crop residue (following grain corn, sunflowers, rapeseed, or tall wheat stubble), the PERSEUS coulter bar is equipped with dedicated mounting brackets for row cleaner attachments:

-Prevention of straw being pressed into the seed furrow: the row cleaner operates ahead of the single disc, gently pushing aside thick layers of mulch and soil clods specifically from the narrow seeding strip, while leaving the inter-row space covered with straw. This completely eliminates the «hairpinning effect» (where the disc pushes damp straw to the bottom of the furrow, causing the seed to land on straw rather than soil). — Faster warming of the seed row: A narrow strip cleared of light-colored straw warms up more quickly under the spring sun, giving the crop a vigorous start and ensuring uniform emergence, while the mulch between the rows continues to retain moisture and suppress weeds.

— Safety for seedlings: Keeping fresh straw away from direct contact with the seeds prevents the inhibition of seedling growth caused by the decomposition products of plant residues (allelopathy) and reduces the risk of root rot.

Triple seed placement system (prevents seeds from being blown out of the row)

1. An individual cyclone deflector on each pneumatic seed tube dissipates excess airflow immediately before the coulter-ensuring seeds remain in the furrow even when the turbine is running at maximum speed.

2. A seed-press wheel (or «Keeton» seed firmer) instantly secures the seed against the moist bottom of the furrow, ensuring firm contact with capillary moisture.

3. A final press wheel closes the row, creating an optimal soil structure over the seed without any air pockets.

Single-row coulter arrangement

— Single-row configuration (250 mm row spacing): All coulters are positioned in a single line. The rear row never covers the adjacent front row with soil; the seeding depth remains perfectly uniform for every coulter; and the wide clearance (25 cm) ensures the unobstructed passage of tall stubble while minimizing draft resistance.

Autonomy, Metering, and a Choice of Two Turbines

— Hoppers with capacities of 6,000 L (60/40 split) and 8,000 L (55/45 split): These integrated, pressurized, two-compartment hoppers offer an extensive operating range, reducing the need for frequent stops to refill.

— Compatibility with any tractor’s hydraulic system: The standard configuration includes an efficient European-style turbine (similar to the Horsch design) requiring an oil flow of 60 L/min. Alternatively, a high-capacity American-made CRARY turbine (requiring an oil flow of 160 L/min) is available for tractors equipped with high-output hydraulic systems.

— Electric drives and a 4 mm stainless steel metering unit: Two independent, computer-controlled electric motors ensure precise metering of seeds and fertilizers, while the stainless steel housing of the metering unit is highly resistant to corrosion. At the front of the implement, wavy turbo-discs loosen the soil within the tractor’s wheel tracks.
